Life events, such as a change in your family or loss of other health care coverage, require you to take action to keep your benefits current.
- Do you have a new dependent? If you get married, have a baby, or adopt a child, congratulations! And be sure to enroll them within 31 days.
- Did a family member lose other coverage? Enroll eligible dependents who have lost their coverage under a different plan.
- Is a dependent no longer eligible? Stop coverage for your adult child on or before their 26th birthday, or for a spouse upon finalizing a divorce.
- Taking time away from work? Make sure you understand how short-term disability, or an employer-approved leave will affect your coverage.
